Nearly all Seneca County government buildings and offices are now closed on Fridays. Services will only be available via telephone, email or website every Monday through Thursday for the time being.

Most government offices in the City of Tiffin plus the various Townships and Villages are closed to public visits. Please call or access websites with questions or to obtain information.

Mercy Health Tiffin Hospital has established a COVID-19 Hotline, available 24/7, to answer questions and offer guidance. Call 1-888-700-9011.

Seneca County Health Commissioner Beth Schweitzer will offer Facebook Live updates every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. These updates can be viewed live on the Health Department’s and County Commissioner’s Facebook pages. The videos will also be archived.

The Seneca County Emergency Management Agency is seeking donation of PPEs or Personal Protective Equipment. The donations collection center is located on the Seneca County Fairgrounds at 126 Hopewell Avenue in Tiffin. Or call 419-934-1967 with questions or to request pick-up.

This is a reminder that no garage or yard sales are allowed in Seneca County until the stay-at-home order is lifted. This includes all cities and villages in the county including all of Fostoria.

Seneca County property owners are advised that in the coming weeks, appraisers will be visiting new construction or demolition projects. Appraisers will be driving silver county auditor vehicles and will have identification. For more information, go to SenecaCountyAuditor.org or call 419-447-0692.

The Tiffin Parks and Recreation Department has cancelled all summer public programs, events and day camps. In addition, the city swimming pool will be closed until it is deemed safe to open. Keep in mind that city parks are open but playgrounds are closed.

Tiffin residents are asked to help city crews by keeping grass clipping and yard waste off streets and sidewalks. This will help keep catch basins and storm drains clean. For information, call the Public Works Department at 419-448-5430.

The Ritz Theatre offices in downtown Tiffin are closed for the time being. A number of upcoming performances and events have been cancelled or postponed. For information, go online to RitzTheatre.org

Most, if not all area events and activities, have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.

The Allen Airy Center in Tiffin is closed until further notice. Area senior citizens who need necessary grocery items or medicine, call 419-448-9774 for assistance.

The Seneca County Board of Developmental Disabilities has cancelled all meetings, events and activities until further notice.

The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is closed to public access until further notice.

The Village of Bettsville’s utility office is closed to visitors until further notice.

There is no visitation at the Seneca County Jail until further notice. Only essential personnel will be permitted inside the jail facilities.

Tiffin-Seneca United Way and its First Call for Help program are not accepting walk-in visits at this time.

Seneca Regional Planning Commission’s office is closed, and employees will be working from home or other remote locations. All scheduled meetings that it hosts are canceled.

All Ohio State University Extension offices, including Seneca County, are closed until further notice.

The Seneca County Museum, located in Tiffin, is closed to the public until further notice.

The Seneca-Crawford Area Transportation, or SCAT, has announced that for the time being, all in-county trips for the general public will be fare free.

The Seneca County Veterans Service Commission has suspended all transportation services until a later date. All veterans should verify the status of upcoming appointments prior to traveling.
