The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library will kick off the adult summer reading program on Friday, June 2 at 5:00 p.m. at a special kickoff program featuring The Whiz Bang Science Show for families of all ages. The reading program, open to all adults, will run until July 31.

This year, the Library is excited to partner with the Pan Yan Bookstore for the adult summer reading program. Participants will track the number of books read on reading logs that can be picked up at the Library or the Pan Yan Bookstore, or printed from the Library website. Reading or listening to books or magazines will earn prize entries. Each entry will earn the reader a chance to win a gift certificate from a local business. Participants can read books checked out from the Library, books they already own, or purchase new books from the Pan Yan Bookstore. Bring back reading logs to the Library after reading 10 books and receive a free water bottle and a coupon for a free book from the Pan Yan Bookstore. All reading logs must be turned in by the end of the day on Monday, July 31.

In addition to reading, adults can attend special programs throughout the summer. “Those Magical Dames: A Look at Women in Magic” will be held on Thursday, June 15 at 6:00 p.m., featuring six overlooked female magicians, their trials and triumphs, and some of the magic they performed. Join Titanic historian Tom Dowling for a special program that explores the “Mysteries of the Titanic” on Tuesday, June 27 at 6:00 p.m. Tom will talk about different aspects of the ship and her passengers, and each mystery will feature a fun interactive element that will amaze both teens and adults alike! Doug Waller, founder of the Southeastern Ohio Society for Bigfoot Investigation will present “Bigfoot in Ohio” on Thursday, July 13 at 6:30 p.m. He will discuss the Bigfoot phenomenon and share encounters he has collected over his years of research. Lastly, the summer adult craft night “Glitter & Glue: Boho Yarn Tapestry” will take place on Tuesday, July 25 at 6:30 p.m. Registration for this program is required by visiting the online calendar at www.tiffinsenecalibrary.org beginning Friday, June 2.

The Library’s Extension and Outreach Services Department will bring the summer reading program to local nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and homebound patrons again this year. For every book read, seniors will be entered to win a prize.
