Children wishing to participate in Elite Sport and Culture Week’s Three Pillar Program can earn both the Culture Pillar and the Education Pillar at the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library August 6 through the 31.
The Three Pillar Program encourages children in kindergarten through sixth grade to complete three pillars of Olympic values; Sports Pillar, Culture Pillar, and Education Pillar. Those who complete the Three Pillar Program are invited to Elite Sport and Culture Week’s Festival of Champions at Tiffin University’s Heminger Center on October 23 to receive a prize and have their picture taken with an actual Olympian.
In order to earn the Education Pillar, children must check out and read five books about sports. They will then write a list of the sports books and bring it back to the Junior Library. In order to earn the Culture Pillar, children will hand draw and color the flag of a country of their choice, or children can opt to create a game and explain it to the Librarians in the Junior Library.
Hosted by Tiffin University, Terra State Community College, and Tiffin Mercy Health, Elite Sport and Culture Week allows the Tiffin community to meet world class athletes and coaches, including Olympians and Paralympians October 20 through 25.
