The Elks National Foundation is proud to announce the 2019 Most Valuable Student Scholarship contest, which is open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.
Eligibility includes: current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply; applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks; high school graduates are not eligible to apply. There will be a Jewelry for Missions Sale on Thursday, November 8, from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Friday, November 9, from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., and Saturday, November 10, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the St. Joseph Church Old Gymnasium, Tiffin.
St. Francis will host a Garage Sale on Saturday, Nov. 10 and Sunday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Elizabeth Schaefer Apartments Auditorium, 190 St. Francis Ave. There will be lots of household items, crafts, clothes, and so much more.
There will be yoga classes on Wednesdays, from 5:15-6:15 p.m. and Beginners’ Yoga on Thursdays, from 6:30-7 p.m. at St. Francis Spirituality Center – Greccio Room, 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. A $7 donation is requested. Extra mats and belts will be provided, if need be. All are welcome with any level of Yoga experience. No registration or experience required. The Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is thrilled to announce that Sam Quinoes, the author of “Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic,” will be the speaker in their “Foundation Speakers” series on Thursday, November 8th at 7 p.m. in Tiffin Middle School – Cafetorium. The New Riegel American Legion is to host a Gun Show on Saturday, November 10th, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and on Sunday, November 11, 2018, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., at The New Riegel American Legion, 20 South St., New Riegel. The 2018 Y-Wives Holiday Extravaganza will take place on Saturday, November 10th, at 10 a.m. at the Tiffin Community YMCA, 180 Summit St., Tiffin. There will be crafts, luncheon, door prizes, and more. All the proceeds will benefit the YMCA.
