Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship

The Elks National Foundation is proud to announce the 2019 Most Valuable Student Scholarship contest, which is open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.
Eligibility includes: current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply; applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks; high school graduates are not eligible to apply. The application is completed online and must be submitted by the November 15m 2018 deadline. For more information or to apply, visit elks.org/scholars.

Hurricane Florence Relief Bucket Brigade @ SCAT or Tiffin-Seneca United Way

The Tiffin-Seneca United Way and Impact Hope are to host Hurricane Florence Relief Bucket Brigade from October 8-18th. Donations can be dropped off at the Tiffin-Seneca United Way or SCAT. Seneca County Parks’ Backpackin’ Babies – Lotsa Leaves @ Forrest Nature Preserve

Seneca County Parks is to host Backpackin’ Babies – Lotsa Leaves on Monday, October 8 at 5 p.m. at the Forrest Nature Preserve. This program is for infants, up to 18 months, with an adult companion. Come in a backpack, front pack, stroller, or just be carried, as you explore the wonders of leaves along the trail. Finger plays, stories, and puppets add to the program. St. Francis Spirituality Center’s “Learning to Meditate” @ St. Francis Spirituality Center

The St. Francis Spirituality Center will be hosting “Learning to Meditate: A Five Week Course for Beginners” on Mondays, beginning on Oct. 1st at 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. Sr. Edna Michel, OSF, will be the meditation guide to finding the path to physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being. All faith traditions are welcome. Seneca County Park District & the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center’s Volunteer Naturalist Course @ Seneca County

The Seneca County Park District, The Franciscan Earth Literacy Center, and The Ohio State University will host an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Course on Tuesdays and Saturdays beginning on September 11th and continuing through November 3rd. Reineke’s Tiffin Ford Lincoln is teaming up with Seneca County Project Lifesaver for a no-obligation test-drive fund raiser on Tuesday, October 9th from 3:30-7 p.m. at 2020 W. St. Rt. 18. Support Project Lifesaver by taking a no obligation test-drive and Lincoln Motor Company will donate $20 per test-drive to Project Lifesaver. This is a non-obligation, rain or shine event.

Mercy Health’s “Healthy Happy Hour” Women’s Event @ Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital

Senior Health Check Clinic @ Allen Eiry Senior Center

The Seneca County General Health District will be sponsoring a Senior Health Check on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Allen Eiry Center from 9:30-11:15 a.m. for anyone age 60 or over. The Health Check Clinic includes vital signs, glucose, hemoglobin, lung sounds, edema, urinalysis, weight and height, review of medication, and education. For more information, call 419-447-3691.
