Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship

The Elks National Foundation is proud to announce the 2019 Most Valuable Student Scholarship contest, which is open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.
Eligibility includes: current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply; applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks; high school graduates are not eligible to apply. The application is completed online and must be submitted by the November 15m 2018 deadline. For more information or to apply, visit elks.org/scholars.

Hurricane Florence Relief Bucket Brigade @ SCAT or Tiffin-Seneca United Way

The Tiffin-Seneca United Way and Impact Hope are to host Hurricane Florence Relief Bucket Brigade from October 8-18th. Donations can be dropped off at the Tiffin-Seneca United Way or SCAT. St. Francis Spirituality Center’s “Christmas 365” Raffle 2019 Fundraiser

St. Francis Spirituality is host a “Christmas 365” Raffle 2019 Year Long Fundraiser. There are several opportunities to win cash. The prizes are valued between $100 -$500. Each raffle entry is eligible to win multiple times. Winner need not be present to win. A winner’s name will be drawn on the 25th day of each month during 2019. Winners will be posted on the St. Francis Spirituality Center website and Facebook page. You may enter as many times as you wish. The cost of each ticket is $10.00 or 6 entries for $50.00. Tickets will be sold through our website, www.franciscanretreats.org. The proceeds will be used for programming at St. Francis Spirituality Center. For more information, call 419-443-1485.

Seneca County Parks’ Young Adventurers – Nutty Necklaces @ Mercy Community Nature Preserve

Seneca County Parks is to host Young Adventurers – Nutty Necklaces on Thursday, October 18 at 5 p.m. at Mercy Community Nature Preserve. This event is for ages 6 to 12 years old. Come learn the different types of nuts grown in our woods and then create your own necklace. This program is free and open to the public. No registration is needed. Franciscan Earth Literacy Center’s Adult Education Program: Genetically Modified Organisms

Join the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center to view a 42-minute video on The Documented Health Risks of Genetically Modified Foods on Thursday, October 18th from 6:30-8 p.m. The video is a presentation by Jeffrey M. Smith, consumer advocate and best selling author of Seeds of Deception and Genetic Roulette. Afterward, there will be time for questions and discussion which Dan Doepker will moderate. There will also be brochures available from the Institute for Responsible Technology including a “Non-GMO Shopping Tips” guide.
