Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship

The Elks National Foundation is proud to announce the 2019 Most Valuable Student Scholarship contest, which is open to any high school senior who is a US Citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.
Eligibility includes: current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply; applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks; high school graduates are not eligible to apply. Hurricane Florence Relief Bucket Brigade @ SCAT or Tiffin-Seneca United Way

The Tiffin-Seneca United Way and Impact Hope are to host Hurricane Florence Relief Bucket Brigade from October 8-18th. Donations can be dropped off at the Tiffin-Seneca United Way or SCAT. Tiffin-Seneca Izaak Walton League’s Handgun Fun Shoot @ Tiffin-Seneca Izaak Walton League

The Tiffin-Seneca Izaak Walton League will be holding its Handgun Fun Shoot on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 9 a.m. sharp. If you’ve never shot a handgun and always wanted to give it a try, join them for a fun, safe morning of shooting, learning, and more shooting. Every participant will be coached by an experienced shooter. This is a great opportunity to learn about gun safety and operation in a low-pressure, non-competitive environment. It’s free. Firearms, ammunition, safety equipment, instructions and refreshments provided.You must be 21 years of age or older, and not legally prohibited for possessing a firearm. Camp Glen – First Responder Safety Day & Open House

On October 13, Camp Glen is hosting a First Responders Safety Day and Open House from 10 a.m.-5 p.m at 6580 S Twp Rd. 131, Tiffin. This free event has been planned in cooperation with the Sycamore Fire Department and will feature a water rescue demonstration, wrecked car extraction demo (car donated by Danners), High Ropes rescue from the Camp Glen High Ropes course, and a landing of Life Flight. Seneca County Parks is to host Nature Walk Bird Talk on Sunday, October 14th at 8 a.m. at the Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, Bloomville. This walk last about 1 and a half hours and qualifies for the Walking Stick Program. Bring binoculars and cameras as you walk the trails looking and listening to the sights and sounds of nature. Seneca County Parks is to host Preschool Pals-Pumpkins on Monday, October 15th at 5 p.m. at Zimmerman Nature Preserve. This event is for ages 3 to 5 years with adult companion. The St. Francis Spirituality Center will be hosting “Learning to Meditate: A Five Week Course for Beginners” on Mondays, beginning on Oct. 1st at 200 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin. Sr. Edna Michel, OSF, will be the meditation guide to finding the path to physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being. All faith traditions are welcome.
